What it does
PNG is perfect for graphics, but it makes photos heavy. Converting a photo to JPG usually makes it much smaller, which helps when a form, email or website has a size limit. The conversion runs on your device.
How to use it
- Click “Choose images”, drop your PNG files onto the box, or paste with Ctrl+V (⌘+V on a Mac).
- They’re converted to JPG straight away, in your browser.
- Download each JPG file, or all of them together as a ZIP.
Common uses
- Photos that phones, editors or screenshot tools saved as PNG
- Upload forms that only accept JPG
- Making PNG photos small enough to email
Tips
- Check for transparency first: a logo with a see-through background will get a white box.
- Keep the PNG if you might edit the image again, since JPG loses a little quality every time it’s saved.
